Yesterday morning, Arnie died after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was one of BAHP and Ted's best friends, someone they've known over 30 years. It has been a difficult couple of months for Ted and BAHP knowing that their friend was sick and didn't have much time left to live.
I will always have fond memories of Arnie, and a lot of them have to do with sports. He was a huge Gators fan, and as families, we watched many Super Bowls and other big sporting events together.
Arnie was very intense as a sports fan, and that intensity translated to the basketball court. It was Arnie who always tried to get me to be a tougher player on the court. He told me I settled too much for jump shots, and instead I should've been driving more to the basket.
We played many games in our driveway in Eniswood, and played many times together at Palm Harbor Middle School. When he would check the ball in, he'd always say "He's got it!" I'll never forget and I'll always be appreciative of how he helped me become a better basketball player.
My thoughts, and the thoughts of everybody at JasonPafundiOnline are with Maddi, Jessica, Teresa, Ryan, Shawn and the grandchildren. Arnie will certainly be missed.
